I met Chef Maddy a few years back when she was just getting started on Insta - and I was blown awayyyy by her creativity, passion for flavour, and (quite honestly) she has the BIGGEST heart when it comes to sharing food and making a real difference in the community.
I was so excited to chat with her about her experiences as a woman in the restaurant industry, her “entry” to the culinary world, and what she loves most about sharing her food with others.
She has some pretty incredible stories - and I’d love for you to have a listen. Thank you so much to Chef Maddy for joining me & chatting all-things-food!

Hi! I'm Kenzie
One thing you should know about me - I am an open book. And, seeing as we're going to get to know each other pretty well through the course of my podcast, I might as well jump right into the"knitty-gritty"
Growing up as a young girl in the era of Instagram, Social media, "Twiggy", and ultra-thin models - I spent over a decade fearing food and feeling insecure in my body. Eventuall (and probably inevitably), I developed a severe eating disorder - one that nearly took my life.
I spent years of stressing over calories, tossing out meals because they were filled with "bad foods", and avoiding food-centric events because I was scared I would "lose control" over sweets, pastries, and other "forbidden" foods.
And for what? To have a flat stomach? To have a magazine-approved "beach body"?
Restricting food restricted my life. Period.
If there's one thing I've learned as a Natural Nutrition Clinical Practitioner and Culinary Graduate - food is not just nourishment for the body… It's not just about the nutrition label, the macros, and the vitamins.
Food is so much more - it's nourishment for the mind, body, and soul. Cooking with whole foods and creating a meal from scratch has so much to offer - social experiences, memories, mental health, creative expression, celebration, laughter, and the ability to connect & share your love with others - without using language (and, that my friends.... is a pretty powerful thing).
Yes, nutrition is important. And, perhaps equally as important is the relationship we have with food.
In this podcast, I speak with chefs, foodies, food journalists, and home cooks from across the world to dive deeper into the true meaning of food - the experiences, the flavours, the memories, the laughter, and the LOVE that comes from cooking and sharing a fresh made meal.
I hope you enjoy this journey with me - and together, we can foster building a relationship with food that is empowering, freeing, and nourishing for our mind, body, and soul <3
